East Sacramento is a very affluent neighborhood in the North Central part of California. This beautiful community is within walking distance of the Midtown Sacramento area that has seen a ton of growth including a massive influx of restaurants, clothing shops, and other retail businesses. East Sacramento was the home of President Ronald Reagan before he became President. He lived in the Fabulous Forties neighborhood when he was Governor of California. This part of town is considered the Historic District because of the older homes and buildings. East Sacramento is also home to the favorite McKinley Park area that holds the popular 32-acre recreational zone.
Students that live in the East Sacramento community go to school at the Sacrament Municipal City District. Although their rating on Great Schools is a five out of ten, there are many top schools nearby. Several of Sacramento City Unified School District schools are rated ten out of ten, or nine out of ten including the West Campus, Phoebe A. Hearst Elementary School, Arnold Adreani Elementary School, and the James R. Cowan Fundamental Elementary School. There are several private schools nearby as well for parents who want a particular education type for their kids.
McKinley Park is the most popular attraction in the community because families spend so much time riding bikes, swimming in the public pool, playing tennis, walking, and hiking. McKinley Rose Garden is an amazing place to see when the roses are in bloom. East Portal Park has a playground, and East Lawn Memorial Park are other popular places to go for a bit of fresh air or exercise. Coloma Park has a community center that hosts fun events for children and families throughout the year. Because East Sacramento is bordered by Interstate 50, it is incredibly easy for individuals to visit the Midtown or Downtown area of Sacramento. This area is home to the Governor's Museum State Historic Park, Fremont Park, the State Indian Museum, Sutter's Fort, the B Street Theater, and the Sacramento Public Library.
